St. Louis native Jaylien Wesley holds quite a few titles on his résumé: rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer & even occasionally composer. In the studio, he has produced/written for Akon, will.i.am, Ty Dolla Sign, Britney Spears, Chris Brown, T-Pain, Snoop Dogg, & more. Raised in a musical household -- his father was a college choir director and his mother was a choir singer -- he developed an early love of music, picking up the piano, saxophone, and clarinet. Inspired by producers like Quincy Jones, Kanye West, Timbaland, Pharrell Williams, and Max Martin, he crafted beats for local artists while he was still a high-school student. His first major production effort was for rapper Huey's 2007 debut, Notebook Paper.

After briefly pursuing further training at New York's SAE Institute, he headed to Atlanta, where he was later introduced to Akon. This chance meeting would spawn Wesley's first worldwide hit, Akon's track "Beautiful" featuring Kardinal Offishall and Colby O'Donis. "Beautiful" went on to sell over 4 million singles. After writing for a string of other stars, in 2015 Wesley decided to focus on his own music as JAYLIEN . Initially expanding his fan base on the Internet, he released his debut EP on July 15, 2016. ‘Summer's Over’ EP contained seven hybrid tracks that blended electronic dance synths, trap beats, soul, R&B, and both his raps and singing. A blend of Frank Ocean, the Weeknd, and the-Dream, ‘Summer's Over’ EP featured the tracks "We Fcuk" and "Hotel Costes", which now have millions of streams on Spotify alone. In 2017 JAYLIEN hit the studio with Keyshia Cole and Young Thug, which spawned the song he co-wrote, “Act Right.”

In 2018 JAYLIEN started the year with Junior Black’s debut release “Easy Loving” via Ultra Music. In the summer of 2018 he also managed to compose music for a fashion film by luxury streetwear brand Heron Preston & create musical compositions for an Alexander Wang x Pepsi Black collaboration. More importantly JAYLIEN took the rest of the summer to put the finishing touches on his new body of work. That work became the follow up project to his debut EP, & “Summer’s Over 2” was released on November 30th 2018. ‘SO2’ consists of 12 new tracks JAYLIEN describes as “musically pleasing, artistically satisfying & a bit emotional”. Already receiving rave reviews from major publications like PAPER Mag.

In 2020, the year that rocked the world, JAYLIEN still found himself apart of some amazing projects. January 2020 began with JAYLIEN being hired to create the musical score & composition for Offset (of super rap group Migos) & his debut fashion collaborations with Laundered Works Corp during Mens Fashion Week in Paris. Attendees were Cardi B, DJ Mustard, Tyga, Jerry Lorenzo (Fear Of God), & others. Jaylien also began releasing a song every other Friday for the next 4 months. In the midst of the covid Hysteria JAYLIEN was tapped to compose music for a Jordan Brand Spot. That video then lead to a beautiful partnership with Jordan Brand that’s still present today, creating the music compositions for Michael Jordan’s first commitment of action to the black & brown community was JAYLIEN’S hihghlight. This commitment was followed by a whole campaign and slew of visuals to go with it in which JAYLIEN was in charge of musically. The visuals were lead by moderator Angela Rye.

 Ending 2020, JAYLIEN released his 3rd solo effort, “Heard It All Before”. The 10 song project included features from Marc E Bassy, Eric Bellinger & Ye Ali. 9 out of the 10 songs were produced, written, recorded, mixed & mastered by JAYLIEN himself. The pandemic of 2020-21 took the world by storm & left everyone in dismay. Between the Covid epidemic, the civil unrest, & a break up from his girlfriend of 5-6 years JAYLIEN went into full pause mode….but to heal , to escape the pain he soon began to record new material. In the middle of recording his first 2022 project, JAYLIEN got the opportunity to start the new year working on DONDA 2 with Kanye West in Los Angeles. After those early 2022 sessions JAYLIEN began putting the finishing touches on his first musical offering in almost 2 years. The single “Take Me With You” released on May 6th & followed by a full length album “THE BLUE PROJECT " released September 9. 2022. The album was produced, written, recorded , mixed and mastered by JAYLIEN himself.

In 2024 Jaylien is poised to do more to expand his brand, creativity & reach starting with the release of his first single “Can You Feel It”.
